Public CompanyNMDC-SAIL join hands for Himachal project
State-owned mining company NMDC Limited and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) will jointly develop a limestone project at Arki in Himachal Pradesh with a three-million tonne per annum capacity.

A memorandum of understanding was signed in New Delhi on Monday in the presence of steel minister Virbhadra Singh and minister of state for steel A Sai Prathap.
NMDC holds the mining lease for limestone in Arki and has deposit of about 100 million tonne of SMS grade limestone, a key input for steelmaking. The project will ensure limestone security for steel plants of SAIL and also for NMDC’s steel plant being set up at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh, according to a press release.
